A Simple Five-Step Process

Gold jewellery sorted into labelled zip bags by carat — 9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct

Contact Us With Your Details

Get in touch via WhatsApp or email and tell us what you have. We need to know the metal type (gold or silver), the carat (9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct etc.) and the approximate weight in grams. If you're unsure of the carat, look for a hallmark stamp inside rings or on clasps — or just send us a photo and we can help.

Top Tip: A simple kitchen digital scales will suffice when weighing your pieces. Always weight the individual carats tog

Receive Your Estimate

Based on the information you provide, we give you a quote that works as a guaranteed minimum estimate. This is the amount we will pay you — or more. We base our quotes on current gold and silver spot prices and our assessment of the metal content. You'll receive your quote typically within the same working day.

Our promise: once you accept our estimate and send your items, you will receive at least that amount. We never pay less than our initial quote, provided you have given us accurate weights, accurate carats and accurate description of your pieces.

Ship Your Items to Us

If you're happy with the estimate, send your items to us using a Royal Mail Special Delivery or equivalent tracked and insured service. We recommend insuring for the full value. We'll confirm receipt on the day your package arrives and begin our assessment immediately. For larger collections we can discuss alternative arrangements including collection.

We Assess & Test

Our specialists weigh and test every item using professional acid testing and XRF analysis where appropriate. In the vast majority of cases our on-inspection offer meets or exceeds the initial estimate — the initial quote is deliberately conservative to protect you. We will contact you with the confirmed offer the same day your items are assessed.

Testing may damage your items Where the carat content isn't obvious we may need to file/snip your pieces. This will result in damage to your items.

Get Paid — or Get Your Items Back

Once assessment is complete, one of two things happens:

If the offer meets or exceeds the estimate: payment is made automatically, same day, by bank transfer. No further action needed from you.

If testing produces a lower offer: we contact you immediately to explain why. You can either accept the revised offer and be paid that day, or decline and have your items returned to you at our cost, fully insured. There is no pressure and no fee either way.

We have never failed to return an item when asked. Your jewellery is always yours until you choose to sell.

Gold & Silver — All Carats, All Conditions

We buy gold and silver in any form and condition — wearable jewellery, scrap, broken pieces, estate lots and collections. Items do not need to be in working order or complete. We buy to appreciate and resell wherever possible, which means we value items that have collectable or antique merit above their raw metal content.

Everything You Need to Know

  • Yes — send us a photo and we can often identify the carat from visible hallmarks. British gold hallmarks are typically stamped inside rings or on clasps and show numbers such as 375 (9ct), 585 (14ct), 750 (18ct) or 916 (22ct). If the hallmark is worn or unclear, we can test on arrival. We'd rather you contact us with an unknown lot than not contact us at all.
  • We base quotes on the current spot price of gold or silver, the declared carat weight, and the stated total weight. We apply a percentage of the recoverable metal value. For pieces with collectable, antique or hallmarked merit, we will often offer more than the raw metal value — this is one reason our prices are typically higher than high-street scrap buyers.
  • This is uncommon — our estimates are based on your stated weight and carat, and we only revise downward if testing reveals the metal content differs from what was described. If that happens, we contact you immediately with a full explanation. You then have two options: accept the revised offer and receive payment the same day, or decline and have your items returned to you at our cost, fully insured. There is no fee, no deduction and no pressure.
  • We recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day, fully tracked and insured up to £2,500, or £10,000 with the enhanced cover add-on). For higher-value lots, contact us first and we can discuss alternatives including courier collection. Always keep your proof of postage. We will confirm receipt on the day your package arrives.
  • Payment is made the same day as assessment and acceptance, by bank transfer. For large or complex lots we aim to assess on the day of arrival; in rare cases it may be the following morning. We will always communicate proactively and keep you informed.
  • Yes. We buy sterling silver (925), Britannia silver, and antique silver items including flatware, hollowware, photograph frames, candlesticks, napkin rings, and decorative pieces. We also buy silver jewellery. As with gold, antique and hallmarked silver often commands a premium over raw spot value.
  • Absolutely. We handle mixed lots regularly. It helps if you can separate items by carat into different bags and provide the weight per carat — as in our process photos — but if you can't, just send everything and we'll do the sorting on receipt. A rough total weight is enough to get an initial estimate.
