Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Garnet Solitaire Ring
At its centre sits a generously proportioned oval-cut garnet measuring 9mm by 7mm. The stone displays a deep, wine-red colour, with flashes of warm crimson that become more apparent as it catches the light. Held securely by four claws, the garnet is surrounded by a beautifully worked gold border, with the twisted detailing creating a lovely contrast against the smooth, faceted gemstone.
The rope design extends towards the shoulders, where it meets delicate openwork detailing that gives the ring a wonderfully decorative profile. From the side, the raised gallery reveals the craftsmanship beneath the gemstone, while the shoulders gradually narrow into a polished band for a comfortable fit.
Weighing 2.8 grams, the ring is crafted in 9ct Yellow Gold and carries British hallmarks from Birmingham, alongside the S&Co Makers Mark. It is currently a Size P½.
It has enough presence to be worn on its own, yet retains an understated elegance that makes it equally suited to everyday wear. A charming piece for anyone who appreciates the individuality and craftsmanship of vintage jewellery.
