Sheffield 1992! Vintage 18ct Yellow Gold Blue Enamelled Cufflinks
These have been beautifully made and have substantial oval faces. Each cufflink features alternating bands of polished Yellow Gold and rich cobalt-blue enamel that create a crisp striped design with a strong architectural feel.
The oval fronts have a gently domed profile, which really brings the enamel and polished gold to life as they catch the light. The deep blue is particularly striking against the warmth of the 18ct Gold, giving these cufflinks a sophisticated and distinctive appearance without being overly formal.
They are also a superb weight at 12.3 grams, giving them the substantial feel you would expect from a quality pair of solid gold cufflinks. Each oval face measures approximately 18mm by 13mm, making them noticeable on the cuff while remaining beautifully proportioned.
The cufflinks bear Sheffield import assay marks for 1992, alongside the 750-fineness mark confirming 18ct Gold. The presence of an import assay mark indicates that they were manufactured outside the UK and subsequently submitted to the Sheffield Assay Office for testing and hallmarking before being offered for sale in Britain.
The reverse is just as nicely finished, with solid gold hinged fittings that make them practical and secure to wear. They weigh 12.3 grams making them a quality piece of vintage jewellery, but it is the combination of their weight, immaculate striped design and wonderfully rich enamel that makes them especially appealing.
