London 1970! Vintage 9ct Gold Castle Charm
The castle has been intricately modelled in miniature, with two imposing round towers flanking the central building. Each tower is topped with a crenelated battlement, while the walls have been textured to recreate individual blocks of stone. Tiny open windows are scattered throughout the façade, adding wonderful depth and allowing light to pass through the piece.
Between the towers sits the main entrance building, complete with a pitched roof, central doorway and a series of tiny Gothic-style windows. Even at just 18.4mm high and 22mm wide, there is an incredible amount to discover. Turn the charm around and the modelling continues, while looking down from above reveals the open interiors of the two towers and further textured detailing.
The charm is crafted entirely from 9ct Yellow Gold and weighs an excellent 6.5 grams, making it surprisingly substantial for its petite dimensions. It has a lovely three-dimensional quality rather than being a simple flat representation, and the pierced windows and open towers give the piece even more character.
The castle is fitted with a gold suspension ring, ready to join a traditional charm bracelet or to be worn individually from a fine gold chain. Its architectural theme also makes it a fantastic piece for a collector of vintage British charms, castles, historic buildings or unusual figural jewellery.
