Birmingham 1970! Vintage 9ct Gold Scorpion Charm

The scorpion has an impressively detailed form, from its prominent pincers and legs to the ridged body and wonderfully curved tail ending in its distinctive sting.

The charm has been designed with plenty of depth and texture rather than simply being a flat representation, giving it a remarkably lifelike appearance despite its miniature proportions. It measures 21.8mm in length excluding the jump ring and 10.5mm across at its widest point, there is an extraordinary amount of detail packed into this little piece.

The underside carries a full set of British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1970, alongside the Makers Mark H.C & S. We have unfortunately been unable to uncover further information about the maker, adding a little mystery to the history of this fabulous vintage piece.

Scorpions have been used as powerful symbols for centuries, associated with strength, protection, resilience and transformation. Of course, it would also make a particularly special gift for anyone born under the Scorpio zodiac sign, making this a charming alternative to more traditional astrological jewellery.
