Antique 9ct Rose Gold Trombone Link Albert Chain
The chain is formed from elongated trombone-style links, alternated with smaller decorative twisted links. This combination gives the chain wonderful texture and visual interest while retaining the clean, elongated silhouette associated with classic trombone chains. The subtle contrast between the polished Rose Gold links and the more detailed connecting links is especially lovely.
The T-bar carries the Makers Mark WJS for W. J. Sutton Ltd, a Birmingham Jewellery Manufacturer who were based on Vyse Street in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter.
At either end are traditional swivel clasps, allowing the chain to be worn in its original Albert configuration or styled in a more contemporary way as a necklace. It features a T-bar suspended from the centre that measures 35mm in length. This is a quintessential feature of an antique Albert and one that looks particularly striking worn to the front.
It measures 16 inches in length and weighs 17.7 grams. It sits beautifully around the neckline, while the long trombone links give it an elegant openness that prevents the gram weight from appearing overly heavy.
