14ct Gold Art Deco Diamond Brooch 0.32cts

At the centre sits the largest old cut diamond, measuring approximately 3mm, flanked by two approximately 2.5mm diamonds, followed by pairs measuring approximately 2mm and 1.7mm. Together, we estimate the total diamond weight at approximately 0.32 carats.

The diamonds are individually set within a beautifully shaped central panel, with fine milgrain borders surrounding the settings. The graduation is particularly effective, creating a subtle taper towards either end. The old cuts have that wonderfully distinctive character we love in antique jewellery, with each stone displaying its own individual proportions and sparkle.

Dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s, this wonderfully refined piece captures the understated glamour of the Art Deco period. Rather than being overly ornate, its beauty lies in its beautifully balanced proportions, crisp geometric setting and graduated diamonds. The brooch measures approximately 55mm in length, yet only around 4mm at its widest central point, making it wonderfully slender and elegant. The contrast between the decorative diamond-set centre and the polished gold bar creates a beautifully clean silhouette.

It weighs 3.6 grams and tests as 14ct Gold on an XRF Analyser, including the pin itself. This is a lovely detail as antique brooch pins were not always made from the same precious metal as the body.

It would look fabulous worn traditionally on the lapel of a blazer or coat, but equally beautiful pinned horizontally to a silk blouse, scarf or dress. Its restrained design also makes it an excellent choice for someone who loves antique diamonds but prefers jewellery that feels sophisticated rather than overly elaborate.
